This is a lovely pipe, manufactured by one of the premier tobacco pipe manufacturers in the world today, Peterson of Ireland. The Peterson X220 is a specialty briar pipe created with an attractive, almost walnut coloured, smooth medium brown matte polish, in celebration of Fathers Day 2014. So the briar, which was already well seasoned prior to 2014, has at least another three years to it. It has a nickel plated band at the ferrule that is artistically engraved with the words’Fathers Day 2014′ and has a black vulcanite stem of the saddle type with a fishtail type mouthpiece. The pipe has a lovely mixture of both straight, horizontal grain (please see pics) and a healthy helping of birdseye. With the almost walnut finish its a very attractive and striking pipe. Someone will be a very proud and happy new owner. Peterson – a thinking man’s pipe! Peterson Logo stamped on the left side of the stem. Peterson’s Dublin’ engraved on the left side of the shank. X220 on the right side. Fathers Day 2014′ is engraved in the nickel plated band. This pipe is supplied in the usual green coloured Peterson Pipe Box with a celebratory Father’s Day outer covering.
