GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT NORDING PIPES Erik Nørding has probably produced more freehand pipes than any other pipe-maker. When carving a freehand pipe, he tries as much as possible to follow the grain making creative choices when he as to deal with natural defects within the wood. Nording – Valhalla Spigot 300 Briar Smoking Pipe with pouch B1743. SIZES Length : 5.1 = 13 cm. Height : 1.53 = 3.90 cm. Width : 1.50 = 3.85 cm. Bowl Diameter : 0.7 = 18 mm. Bowl Depth : 1.20 = 30 mm. Weight : 1.1 oz = 30 gr. According to legend, heroes who died in combat were retrieved from the battlefield by the Valkyries and taken to Valhalla where they would drink, smoke and party with the gods. The Valhalla series is crafted from some of the finest briar available. The Nørding signature deep-reddish, light brown and orange stain is applied to the series 400, 500 and 600. All three are smooth, and the gloss finish dramatically highlights the beautiful grains. Series 200 is partly rusticated, whereas series 350 has mat surface. Stamped “Handmade by Erik Nording” and fitted with acrylic stems, the Valhalla 600 Series is worthy of Odin himself.
