Peterson’s Speciality pipes first appeared in the brand’s 1945 catalogue and comprises a number of shapes which are named rather than numbered. These pipes eschew Peterson’s usual, muscular design style in favor of a more petite, slender shaping that’s remarkably lightweight. The pipes in this line are paired to lengthy vulcanite stems which highlight their willowy profiles, and they come available in a variety of finishes. This Billiard is here accented with a bright nickel band and is dressed in a crisp rustication. Length: 6.1 in. Weight: 0.85 oz. Bowl Height: 1.63 in. Chamber Depth: 1.46 in. For those interested in a simple, no-nonsense presentation, Peterson’s Aran series can’t be beat. A dark, silky smooth contrast stain is paired to a jet-black stem for an understated and classic look. This unsmoked Peterson Plateau (Plato) was from an extremely limited run in 2017. Peterson made 200 of these in three different finishes, all three of which I will be listing. This is a rare Pete you don’t find often! Come and Take It! Follow my shop for choice pipes and color commentary, uploaded regularly and original pipes hand made by me, uploaded occasionally.
