Technically the Kinsale XL28 is a Bent Billiard shaped pipe, but with the diamond shank it takes a resemblance to the Bulldog. Inspiration for the Smooth finished Peterson Kinsale XL28 lies in the Sherlock Holmes collection, namely the “Moran” pipe. However, with a price point significantly lower, the superb design, and the smooth smoking of Peterson pipes, this pipe is serious competition for the “Moran” and is a better choice for many people. / 44.20 mm. Originally the “Rathbone” from the “Return of Sherlock Holmes” series, this bent Billiard shape possesses an unusually lofty bowl, nearly verging upon the proportions of a Stack. The heaviness of the stem, as well as the way in which it bends, however, gives it more of the feel of a bent Dublin – albeit a pretty tubular one, which is fitting for a Peterson. All in all it is a handsome if unusual design, which is to say a model Peterson. Chamber is carbon coated to speed up the break in period.
