Description from the maker. This freehand plateau is a flawless bent pipe with a limited edition SEM German colored ebonite stem. The pipe is a rounded at either end and flat on the sides. This pips has a properly drilled draught hole that allows for the smooth passage of a pipe cleaner. This pipe started out as a plateau block of wood from Mimmo in Italy that I drew the shape of this pipe on and drilled the holes in it and then cut off the excess wood. After this I proceeded to sand the stummel down to the desired shape and size. I then drilled the holes in the ebonite rod for the stem and glued the tenon in and then shaped the stem and the sand it and the stummel by hand. After that I stained and polished the stummel and stem with carnauba wax and did a final dry buff on both. Ithilien was a region and fiefdom of Gondor bordering Mordor in eastern Middle-earth. The total length is 5 1/4 inches. The height is about 1 3/4 inches. The Width is 1 1/2 inches. The tobacco chamber depth is 1 3/8 inches. The tobacco chamber width is 3/4 inch. The weight is 1.8 oz.
Handmade in Texas, USA by Joshua Sanders of Frassati Pipes. This Morta pipe is made with 6,000 year old bog oak from the Ukraine and a coffee acrylic stem with a delrin tenon for longer life. The pipe’s airway is spot on in the middle of the Tobacco chamber giving the pipe perfect draw plus you can slide a pipe cleaner through the stem and into the tobacco chamber without any bumps.
