Mark Tinsky needs no introduction as one of the finest American pipe makers that ever practiced the craft. Not only prolific for decades, his versatility in so many shapes and styles is eclipsed only by his ability to select the perfect briar for the pipe he is making. His attention to detail is unrivaled and his drilling is spot on perfect with every pipe! Stamped with his name and “2016 WALNUT 6?? ” this is a Brand New & Unsmoked pipe. This “Chubby Tomato” (my words) is comparable to his Big Boy line with some modifications. The bowl on this handsome pipe is larger & deep. The slight bend lends itself to the custom ebonite slightly bent saddle stem!! The stem is as wide as the bowl with a smooth, open, and laminar flow draw that will make a superior smoker. I would not classify this as a “nose warmer, ” as it is a bit longer, but it certainly fills the hand as a larger tomato bowl. The briar is awesome. Tight grained up both sides of this handsome masterpiece & somehow straight sweeping vertical on the stem of the stummel!! How this pipe avoided flame for nine years is beyond me. I want to smoke it now! Maybe you will also? Just a phenomenal pipe. This Tinsky gem can be yours.
